April’s poetry explores identity, desire, intimacy, spirituality, mortality, and the strange textures of everyday life. Playful, visceral, philosophical, and sometimes irreverent, her poems move freely between personal experience, social observation, humor, and questions about what it means to become and to be oneself.
Her first book of poetry, DIRT, brought together 29 poems spanning love, sexuality, gender, friendship, selfhood, spirituality, and the messiness of being human. The book is now sold out. April is currently assembling a new book of poetry that will revisit selected reader favorites from DIRT alongside new pieces, extending the themes and voice of the original work into something new.
Zazazine, as the name suggests, is a zine (pronounced "zeen").
It collects short fiction, poems, collage art, and so much more - by April and also by a fierce group of guest writers and artists who began to join the project in the 3rd and 4th editions of the zine.
It is distributed for free or as close as printing cost as possible, mainly in zine events such as CoZi in Las Vegas, and events by the local LV City Libraries.
Zazazine is slowly being digitized, and volumes 1 and 2 are available now in digital form. Volume 1 includes the acclaimed short story "Manhattan."

April is currently developing an urban fantasy set in Los Angeles, where the extraordinary exists alongside the spectacle and strangeness of everyday city life. The novel explores hidden worlds, old systems of magic, and the uneasy crossings between humanity and what exists beyond the veil.
Alongside these longer works, April continues to write short fiction, poetry, and zines, and to develop future collaborative and anthology projects.
April is currently seeking literary representation for a completed upper middle-grade mystery / thriller centered on a strange old school, an unlikely friendship, and a hidden history that begins to surface when two students start asking questions no one seems eager to answer. Beneath the mystery is a story about belonging, exclusion, cultural values, and what it means to discover the importance and protect a place before it is destroyed.
The story is told in first person, narrated by the main character, a young girl curious to discover the world. The text takes her natural voice into form, giving unusual pace and rhythm to the story. As it develops, she begins a direct relationship with the reader, a habit other characters are able to recognize and question, "who are you talking to?" To the reader, it becomes an intimate journey with new found friends.
